FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: DO I NEED A LAWYER?
A: Legal issues can be delicate, time-sensitive and complicated, which is why you should always consult with a lawyer. Hammerman Rosen LLP provides free initial consultations to analyse your situation and discuss your options moving forward. If we cannot assist you, we will gladly refer you to one of our qualified colleagues.
Q. HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO PAY IN LEGAL FEES?
There are many variables to consider when calculating the expected cost of litigation. Generally, the cost of legal representation will correspond with the duration, complexity, severity and urgency of your matter. We offer a free initial consultation to fully understand the facts of your case, and to discuss with you the anticipated time and cost required to pursue your goals. Ultimately, we want what is best for you, and strive to resolve our clients' matters expeditiously, while being mindful of financial considerations. We are in the business of helping people, and offer fee arrangements tailored to our clients' specific needs and circumstances.
We will provide a retainer agreement that clearly outlines the scope of our relationship with you, and the billing method, and what generally to expect along the way. We strive to keep legal representation affordable, and keep our clients fully apprised of the options and possible outcomes of each step of your legal matter. Whether we can resolve your matter in a single phone call, or appearance, or whether it takes extensive discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and court appearance, we are dedicated to providing exceptions legal service and achieving results for our clients, while minimizing risk and costs.
Q: HOW MUCH DOES A LAWYER COST?
A: Many of our services are billed by the result. We offer extremely competitive hourly rates starting at $150.00 per hour, or we can develop a hybrid contingency / hourly arrangement. We also provide "low-bono" services starting as low as $50.00 per hour for qualifying Essex and Morris County residents.
Q: WHAT IS LIMITED-SCOPE OF REPRESENTATION AND "UNBUNDLING"?
A: Although many legal matters are complex and require multiple types of services, Hammerman Rosen LLP also provides limited scope representation, meaning we will assist you with specific limited tasks, even if another attorney is handling your matter. We can review documents, and can bill for limited specific tasks, as opposed to general representation. Exceptions apply. Please contact us to discuss your matter.
